okay so i've been waiting all week to express how I feel about the iPad, seriously this has to be the dumbest innovation apple could have formulated. They could have improved this new product and even if they did it's worthless. So think twice before coughing up a good $500 for this new product. The iPad hit stores April 3, 2010 which means that is the only place none of you should be.

First of all whos brilliant idea was it to come up with this name? Josh Frongello, another cynic of the iPad, stated "it sounds like a hygiene products you need every month." One of its biggest flaws is you are unable to multitask on the iPad. Listening to music while browsing the internet is an impossible task due to the fact you are unable to run multiple applications at once. This so called new "revolutionary" idea does not contain a USB port, camera, or disk drive, my goodness might as well spend 500 more dollars to buy a MacBook that is able to perform may more functions an iPad can't. Another major flaw is the iPad is that it doesn't support Flash player which means users can't connect to sites like Disney, Hulu, ESPN, Farmville, or JibJab, and won't have access to certain Flash-based online games. Apple's arguments against Flash are that it could potentially be a security risk and is a 'resource hog.' Although the iPad has been praised for its new high technological LED screen there is a major downside. LED screens tend to be harder on the eyes than the e-ink screens used on eReaders such as the Kindle. Some users even mentioned that the backlit screens seem to be migraine inducing.

I don't see how such a respected company such as Apple could create a product like this. In this economic crisis people don't have the money to buy something that has no value when they can spend they money for something of much more quality. I anticipate that this new product will be sitting on selves from Christmas to Christmas.

  1. I completely agree with you, I was really excited to hear what Apple would come out with, and looking forward to their conference. When I saw the iPad I was really upset and angry, I was hoping for a new Mac Tablet or something better. This thing is like an over-sized iPod Touch that's twice as expensive!

  2. I completely agree with Daniel. Apple had an opportunity to do something amazing with this type of device. I think that a tablet device like this could be extremely successful given it had certain things like flash and USB ports. Apple is touting this new product as a competitor to the Amazon Kindle and that it will revolutionize e-readers because it has the capability to have animated pictures and have a color screen but as you said the LCD screen is hard on peoples eyes where as the e-ink screen found in the Kindle is actually very to read from and it mimics typed letters on a page. I would have hoped to see this product be a big flop but it is reported that Apple has sold 300,000 units the first weekend. It appears that there are many, many Apple fan boys out there.
